Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy can be helpful if you want to understand yourself better, work through difficult experiences, or feel better equipped to navigate what’s happening in your life now. You might be struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt, relationships, a period of change, or noticing patterns in the way you think, feel or respond that you’d like to make sense of. It can also be a chance to step back, reflect on what matters to you, and think about how you want to move forward. The free intro call is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy and whether my approach feels right for you.
-
The introductory call is a relaxed, 20-minute chat where we can get to know each other a little before deciding whether to move forward with therapy. I’ll ask about what has brought you to therapy, what you’d like to be different, and what you’re hoping to get from working together. I’ll also explain about how I work and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions. Most importantly, it gives us both a chance to see whether working together feels like the right fit.
-
You don’t need to know exactly where to begin, or even where you want to end up. In our first few sessions, I’ll ask plenty of questions and take the time to get to know you – what’s going on in your life now, the relationships and experiences that have shaped you, and what you’d like to get from therapy. There’s no pressure to tell me everything at once. We can start wherever you are, take things at your own pace, and figure out the rest together.

I use Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rather than sticking rigidly to one approach, I draw on different ideas and techniques depending on what we’re working on and what feels most helpful for you.
-
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place once a week or every two weeks. Having a regular time can help build consistency, although we can discuss what works best for you depending on your circumstances

I offer in-person sessions in Utrecht at 3 Maliastraat, 3581 SH, as well as online sessions. Where possible, I prefer to meet in person, particularly at the beginning, as I find it helps us get to know each other and build a strong therapeutic relationship.
However, I understand that online sessions can sometimes be more practical and offer greater flexibility, so both options are available depending on what works best for you
-
Individual therapy sessions are €80 for 50 minutes, both in person and online. I also offer a reduced student rate of €50 for 50 minutes. Our initial 20-minute intro call is free of charge.
-
I understand that plans sometimes change. If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full session fee.

I currently work independently from health insurance providers. This gives us greater flexibility in how we work together, allowing me to tailor therapy to you and draw on different approaches depending on what feels most helpful. There is also no fixed limit on the number of sessions, so we have the time and flexibility to work together for as long as feels useful.
If you have international or additional health insurance, you may be able to claim back some or all of the cost of your sessions. As this varies between providers and policies, I recommend checking directly with your insurer.
